1723 Glover Johnson English Trencher Salt Pair Parcel Gilt Sterling Silver

1723 Glover Johnson English Trencher Salt Pair Parcel Gilt Sterling Silver

460.00

A classic matched pair of English parcel gilt sterling silver George I trencher salts from the first quarter of the 18th century by Glover Johnson, London. Very nicely marked for London, Sterling, and for the maker. Johnson was prolific at making these, but they are now scarce (see Grimwade #833, Glover Johnson, mark entered June 29, 1720).

Condition is fair with numerous repairs and pinholes. Owner's crest nicely engraved of a lion's head erased holding in one paw a coronet.
