Monumental Sterling Silver Peru Cuff Bracelet with Condor Coca Leaves

Monumental Sterling Silver Peru Cuff Bracelet with Condor Coca Leaves

612.00

This heavy tapered sterling silver cuff was probably hand crafted in Peru for the tourist trade but decades ago. The construction is heavy and the metal can be bent only with difficulty. The general technique is applique over a heavily textured background. The bracelet features what amounts to a coat of arms with a Mapuche two headed Andean Condor surrounding a coat of arms. Within the coat of arms are the letters K + J, a star, and maybe a crown. Importantly, the bracelet is well decorated with blooming coca plants on all sides (the plant that makes cocaine).

The width starts at 8.1" and tapers to 6.8" where it hits the wrist, but could be adjusted up or down by a jeweler. This is an ultra high quality lifetime piece. Stamped twice 'Peru', 'Sterling', and with a hallmark of a detailed woman in traditional dress. Condition is excellent with no significant issues. What a piece!
