This heavy antique sterling silver salver made just two years into the reign of King George III has a plain circular form on four outswept lion's paw feet, in the classic English style with raised rounded borders ornamented with impressive applied scallop decorated rim. Marks for Richard Rugg I, 1762, London, sterling silver. An elegant hand chased cartouche sits in the center and has not been personalized. This is the height of elegance on any sideboard or for carrying drinks or hors d'oeuvres. 26o years old!
