Superb American ca. 1840 solid coin silver wine ewer made in New York City, NY. The pinnacle of 19th century New York silversmithing with rich hand chased embellishments and repousse. Fully and crisply hallmarked for 'WF', as well as a characteristic retailer that employed Mr. Forbes. Condition is excellent with virtually no wear from use. No noted damage except a possible monogram removal. Dimensions are: 16.25” in height. Weight: 1,275 grams. Item is not weighted.
