1851-52 Pure Coin Silver Cann or Cup by Henry Burrill Stanwood of Boston

$430.00
A fine 1851-52 sterling silver cann or cup probably by Henry Burrill Stanwood of Boston made of coin silver. Made for Adeline Faxon (daughter of Joseph Faxon) of Randolph, MA and given on her 30th birthday. Handsomely accented with a milgrain edge at the rim and a repousse raised foot. Handle is acanthus. Some minor surface scratching, and very small dints, but overall condition is very good and commensurate with age and use. Stamped 'BOSTON' and 'PURE SILVER COIN'. Cup holds 8 ounces. Beautifully handmade with lots of perfect hammer marks on the interior.

Dimensions: 4" x 3 1/16” tall

Weight: 184 grams
