1944 Antique Mexican Baby Cup Christening Sterling Silver (81 grams)

Nice little cup by an unknown Mexican maker. Sterling silver and stamped so on the outside of the rim. Cup weighs about 81 grams. Has a birth inscription of "Phillip Dale Barton August 13, 1944". 2" tall. Condition is fair with a couple of small dints. Price is firm (listed at current scrap with free shipping). Rare to find dated 1940's pieces from Mexico. Marked at the bottom 'Mexico Silver'. Recently recovered in Maryland. Cup could be repaired and pressed into service with a new inscription.
Barton left Adelphi, Maryland and went on to receive the Associates in Science from Montreat-Anderson College in Montreat, NC. He died in 2004 and was buried in Davidsonville, Anne Arundel, Maryland. A husband and a father.
