George III 1817 London Gilded Sterling Silver Cup or Mug by Samuel Knight

A fluted sterling mug in the Queen Anne style conservatively embellished with incised ribbing and a fancy handle. Marked for London, Samuel Knght, Sterling, and 1817. A rare piece in excellent condition. Interior is well gilded and is richer than the common 'daffodil yellow'. About 4" across at the widest and 3" tall. Weight is 105.9 grams. No major flaws except moderate wear to the still clear hallmarks.
