Spectacular and extremely rare Tiffany sterling silver wine funnel. Not a piece for a mere enthusiast, this belongs to one whose passion for the grape runs very deep. A perfect gift for the sommelier or vineyard owner.
Heavy gauge sterling silver formed into an ovoid shape from top to bottom. One side of the rim slopes intuitively downward to accommodate the pour from the bottle at one side. This aerator has the rare feature of a stopcock (integral spigot) so that you control the flow of the wine. When closed, not one drop can pass. When fully opened, the wine passes in a slow and steady stream through the funnel. Everything is fully operational. Condition is exceptionally good with light wear and exceedingly light surface scratches.
The silver is of a heavy gauge-- you couldn't bend it without great difficulty. Stamped "TIFFANY" and "STERLING" and "DENMARK". Dimensions: Across the bowl is 2.4" x 2.9" 62mm x 74mm. 5.2" (134mm) tall. Weight is: 152.5 grams. A beautiful thing to behold.
