A very scarce mid-17th century (1669) engraving by Joachim von Sandrart after M Herr of German composer, Sigmund Theophil Staden executed a few years after his death in 1655. This is executed on very heavy paper and with exacting detail. A marvelous rendition of this fabulous German Baroque composer. With the royal stamp on the obverse, canceled, and then remarked with a German retailer mark which states "Sold by the Royal (K.) Copper Etching Cabinet Berlin."
Superb condition. Dimensions of the etching are 5.75" x 8.75"
