1773 Nathaniel Appleton and Anne Smith London Sterling Silver Salt Cellar George III Colonial (100 g)

$390.00
A 1773 colonial-era sterling silver salt cellar pair made just before American Independence by prolific makers Nathaniel Appleton and Anne Smith of London. These pieces are well marked with the maker, London (pre-1822 crowned leopard, Sterling, and maker's mark). However, lovers of English silver will notice that there is no duty stamp since this was not introduced until later in the reign of King George III. Besides three scalloped hooves, the piece features only the most minor of adornments also characteristic of the time-- the milgrain rims. A magnificent addition to the colonial table. Acquired on the Eastern Delaware shore. Ships insured with tracking. Monogrammed T*S /A. Weight: 100 grams. Check out some of my other English sterling silver holloware here: https://www.etsy.com/shop/DCSILVERSHOP?ref=shop_sugg§ion_id=6409956 Or just browse around the shop! https://www.etsy.com/shop/DCSILVERSHOP
