Offered is a set of two coin silver shellback teaspoons made 1777-1791 by Joseph And Nathaniel Richardson of Philadelphia. Upturned terminals and engraved with a Monogram 'EL' in block letters on the handle reverse. Richardson worked from 1777-1805 as a silversmith in Philadelphia Pennsylvania eventually retiring after partnership with his brother Nathaniel Richardson. Philadelphia Museum of Art, Yale University Art Gallery, the Met, Winterthur, and the Marble Collection all collect his work [Ref: Hollan]. Marked with a 'INR' in a rectangular cartouche. Mark is a dead match to one illustrated in Hollan. Condition is good. One noted with small dent and hammer marks on obverse of bowl. Nonetheless, scarce, scarce, scarce!
