1790-1800 Enamel Bilston Patch Box with Mirror 'Kings they say Are but the Creatures of a Day'

$265.00
This is a lovely piece. English. Made around 1790. This one is a rare example with a layer of pink enamel at the base and the classic white top with the Greek saying 'Kings they say Are but the Creatures of a Day'. Inside of the top has an intact mirror, this one cracked and desilvered. Just lovely and one might argue rather timely of our time. Would be a nice container for a wedding ring. 1" across the lid and more or less the same in height.
