A fine Georgian Dublin sterling silver marrow scoop made in 1811 by the Irish silversmith Richard Sawyer. This elegant example features the classic double-ended form developed for refined Georgian dining, with differently sized scoops designed for extracting marrow from bones at the table. The handle is engraved with a distinguished armorial crest depicting a Moor's Head, adding historical character and heraldic interest to this otherwise restrained design. Measuring 8.75 inches in length and weighing 46 grams, it has pleasing proportions and a comfortable balance in the hand. The scoop remains in very good antique condition with an attractive mellow patina and light wear consistent with its age.
