1818-49 Pair of Alex Cameron of Dundee Parcel Gilt Sterling Silver Master Salt Spoons in Scottish Fiddle Pattern (28 grams)
$350.00
A refined pair of early 19th-century Scottish master salt spoons by noted Dundee silversmith Alexander Cameron, active 1818–1849. Crafted in classic Scottish Fiddle pattern, each spoon is struck in sterling silver and finished with parcel gilding to the bowls—a traditional treatment intended to protect fine salts and add a touch of luxury to the table.
Each piece is clearly marked for Alex Cameron and exhibits the elegant, slightly austere lines characteristic of Scottish flatware of the period. The bowls retain a warm, even gilding, and the terminals carry a period script monogram “D.”
