A rare and unusual sterling silver dresser jar, most likely crafted by Simons Brothers of Philadelphia (active 1840–early 20th century). The lid is decorated in repoussé with detailed Native American imagery including the bust of a chief in feathered headdress, peace pipe, tomahawk, and teepees—an uncommon and striking design for an American silver dresser piece. Dimensions: 3.25" H x 4.25"W Weight: 587 g (inclusive); 24 g (silver) Condition: This piece has survived more than a century of use and shows its age. The gauge of the silver is relatively light, and there are numerous small dings, dents, and surface wear throughout. There may also be old repair work to the lid. The glass base shows typical wear consistent with age but no major structural damage noted.
