1884 Tiffany & Co. Wave Edge Sterling Silver 11" Oyster Ladle

A distinct and large sterling silver oyster ladle by Tiffany & Co. in the Wave Edge pattern made in New York City 1884-91. Ladle has a garland of seaweed or kelp along the stem and then at the terminal, there is a wide fan shaped scallop. The ladle bowl is wide and deep and fluted at every turn of the metal. Nicely stamped on the handle for 'TIFFANY & Co.' 'STERLING' and Pat. 1884 M'. Nice heavy gauge, but entirely elegant. Condition is near flawless with a beautiful patina. Monogrammed ('LR'). Directorship of Edward Moore.
