Hallmarked on each of its 3 parts. Lion passant is stamped. As is the date mark "H" and the city mark for Chester, England. Heavy and solid for its size, this buckle measures 2" tall and more than 1.5" wide at the widest. The buckle weighs 32 grams. Hinge is fully operational and smooth. Wear is slight with some possible minor bending of the post where the sash would be affixed on the reverse.
