1900 Gustav Gaudernack for David Andersen Sterling Silver Norway Enamel Lily Spoon Oslo, Norway (33 g)
$450.00
Incredible David Andersen Norwegian silver and purple enamel spoon, parcel gilt. The back is the best on this with a pair of highly detailed enamel lilies and their leaves on the bowl reverse. Believe this is an earlier piece, perhaps 1900 or so. Although there are many enameled Andersen spoons, this one stands way above the rest for its incredibly lifelike depiction of lilies.
Designed by Gustav Gaudernack for David Andersen (see image of one very similar from early 20th century Gaudernack illustration archives).
Stamped with 925 S and the David Andersen pseudomark. Enamel with slight losses at the handle (shown).
33 grams
5 7/8"
