1907–1910 Porter Blanchard for Arthur Stone Handwrought Sterling Spoon (38 g)
$350.00
Marked with the workshop stamp of Arthur J. Stone and the craftsman’s initial “B” for Porter Blanchard, this sterling silver spoon is a fine example of early American Arts and Crafts silversmithing. The piece features a hand-hammered surface, an elongated egg-shaped bowl, and a shield-form terminal with understated incised decoration.
Blanchard, who trained under Arthur Stone before becoming a leading figure in West Coast silver, worked in Stone’s Gardner, Massachusetts shop for only a brief period, making signed examples from this era particularly desirable. A rare opportunity to acquire an early work by one of America’s most respected silversmiths.
Weight: 38 grams.
Length: 7"
Condition: Excellent, with light surface wear consistent with age. No monogram or removal.
