Offered is a Ming Dynasty (1368 to 1644) or possibly earlier Chinese bronze polychrome figure of a praying attendant. The figure, with traces of bright gilding and paint, is executed in bronze and is beautifully figured. He stands upon a simple square pedestal. The long gowns are accented with rich designs and the hair of this priest is pulled back high and fixed with a pin behind the headdress. Condition is very good with a couple of small holes and cracks that may be original casting flaws. Stunning and expressive piece. Overall, a really interesting piece with a very rich and authentic patina. Dimensions: 12" tall and about 1878 grams in weight.
