Antique Chinese Silver Plated Copper Belt with Lotus Motif (26.75")

Offered for sale here is a silver plated copper belt that was produced in the Far East, possibly in China. This gorgeous and functional belt probably dates 1900-1930. Belt strap is made from a series of well executed repousse plaques. The buckle features a mythical creature as the hook and eye. The theme is of course the lotus blossom, a symbol of purity, spiritual enlightenment, and rebirth. In good condition with one connector having been replaced with wire (jeweler could restore if needed). Some blushing of the copper. Quite a piece!
