Antique German 800 Silver Figural Ocean Theme Apostle Tablespoon & Apostle Terminal (80 g) MAX

$250.00
This impressive German 800 silver tablespoon is an exceptional example of late nineteenth-century figural flatware, featuring a boldly modeled terminal depicting an apostle figure. The substantial gauge and sculptural quality of the piece reflect the European tradition of transforming functional silverware into miniature works of art. The handle incorporates a dramatic steamship motif, while the bowl is richly decorated with maritime symbolism, including a dolphin, crossed anchor and key, and other ocean-related imagery. The reverse of the bowl features a raised shell form, reminiscent of a limpet or other marine shell, further reinforcing the nautical theme. Measuring 8¼ inches in length and weighing 80 grams, this unusually large and heavy example of German 800 silver flatware is a distinctive collector's piece for those interested in figural silver, maritime symbolism, and unusual European serving forms. Dimensions: 8 1/4". Weight is about 80 grams.
