Ca 1775 Danish Sterling Silver Dessert Spoon (47 g)

$245.00
This is a stunning provincial spoon that I believe was made in Denmark. Signed doubly by the smith as shown but no official marks. Made in a traditional fiddleback pattern with resplendent shell and thread motif in relief on both front and back. Monogrammed in a period cursive script. Really a very special, rare and unique piece. Wear is commensurate with age and use as shown. Overall, this spoon has a stout and impressive profile and very unusual proportions. Length: 8.25" in length 47.0 grams.
