A superb Pennsylvania coin silver teaspoon made by the third generation of the Reading Pennsylvania-based Mannerback smiths, William L Mannerback (1842-1874). He inhabited the town of Reading and was the grandson of a multi-generational family that had settled there, possibly from New York. This simple spoon typifies the time period. Neatly made, and stamped "W. Mannerback" in a light gauge of silver. A plain cartouche. This spoon is in very good condition given the age with nominal wear, surface scratches and overall patina. Wear to the picture back. Overall, a rare piece by this maker.
