Ca 1880 Coin Silver Serving Spoon by Whiting and Retailed by Ford in Freeport, ME

A large coin silver serving spoon from the third quarter of the 19th century with sugar loaf shoulders and handsomely chased monogram "MEB". Maker mark appears to be an early version of the NYC Whiting dragon mark. Also, with the retailer mark by A. W. Ford jeweler in Freeport, ME. Spoon is also stamped "coin". Condition is good with wear commensurate with age and use. The lip of the spoon is turned up from use very very slightly but could be filed down if desired.
