Grace Gorlitz Abstract Painting on Board (16" x 18")

$160.00
At the age of 100, her community lost the talented second generation artist, Grace Gorlitz. Gorlitz was renowned for her sense of humor and often incorporated humor into her art (sometimes said to be explicit). She was also a generous person, her family foundation supporting many important initiatives in Maryland and beyond. The subject painting on heavy board is a colorful abstract melee with rigid black constructs beneath the color that remind me of sailboats in front of a distant promentory. On the reverse, the estate has labeled this as Gorlitz with her name and living dates (1919-2020). The board is heavy (about 1/4" in thickness) and small to medium sized: 16" x 18". Corners and edges are rubbed and I suspect this is one that was stored in her workshop a long time before her passing. It is sold unframed. Price is firm.
