A large American sterling silver hand wrought serving spade made by a known but unidentified maker. This is a heavy gauge spade with a Celtic point profile, and a wide only slightly rounded bowl. This piece is marked for STERLING Cursive 'L', and an arm and hammer mark (indicating hand forged). Condition is good with surface scratches. Monogram 'AB'. This came from an old Boston family that had other hand forged pieces that were made in Boston.
